This ‘Hunter’ red is from William Chris Vineyards, established by Chris Brundrett in 2008, based outside Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country. From the winery's Lahey and Bolen vineyards. A blend of 53% Merlot, 25% Malbec, and 22% Cabernet Sauvignon. A ruby-tawny colour, macerated for 16 days, aged 18 months in 35% new French oak. Intriguing aromatics of macerated strawberries, Piment d'espelette, and rose petals. This is surprisingly vibrant with a brilliant line of saline minerality, peach pitt tannins, and grippy acidity—excellent tension and length.
