Nearly all Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Bel Canto leans heavily into winemaker Ben Smith’s favourite variety. Aromas of pencil lead, singed rose petals and a mix of juniper bush and dried lilac. The long, cool growing season of 2022 seems perfectly suited to the elegant touch of the Cadence wines. The palate is a mix of red and black fruits, herbs and bay leaf, giving a savoury complexity that's well framed by a streak of graphite minerality at the finish.
