What winemaker Ben Smith calls ‘the leftovers’ still makes a lovely wine. Cabernet Franc is dominant with Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, which come together, offering elegance and balance with ample ripeness. Aromas of blueberries and violets mingle with a streak of graphite minerality.  The palate is characterised by blue and blackberries, a fig note alongside smoky clove, fleshy black cherries, and Chinese five spice. Cadence's entry-level wine has ample structure, beautiful tannins, and longevity—one of the best values in Washington wine.
