A wonderfully balanced blend led by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with the Artist label coming from Jaq Chartier. Fruit for this wine is sourced from throughout the Columbia Valley. The aromatics lean into elegance with forest notes of fir and pine, crushed-stone minerality, and smoked cedar plank. The palate is densely dark-fruited, but it balances nicely with the desert scrub of juniper, lavender and wild herbs. There's a distinct dark chocolate depth here, with a salty kiss that carries the finish.
