This absolutely delightful chillable red from Washington outfit Contact is from the Rocks District of Milton Freewater on the Oregon side of the Walla Walla Valley. It is mostly Cabernet Franc with 18% Grenache blended. The aromas are of wild strawberries, freshly chopped green herbs, and wonderful savouriness from rosehip oil. The palate is brilliantly pure. Tart notes of blood orange and green strawberries, spicy chicory root, anise, and mint are present at the finish. The savoury depths from the Rocks reach new heights in this light, vibrant wine.
