These wines will be released next year from the heat dome vintage in 2021; this wine from the Red Mountain estate vineyards benefitted from a cooler, long growing season. Low yields and fruit set meant an intensity of fruit, and honing in on the pick dates was key to the balance that winemaker Adam Tolliver goes for. Using multiple blocks and clones throughout the sites allows him to knit together a balanced and fresh wine with that Red Mountain intensity. Floral aromatics are complex and meld with the savoury Cabernet Franc character brilliantly. An intense violet character that blends with savoury elements of desert scrub, lavender and wild mint. The palate is refined and upright, with taut fresh blackberries, mint, wild herbs, and a delicious mix of pepper. There is a graphite streak that lifts the entire wine to the finish—raised in 60% new French Oak.
