One of America's great Sauvignon Blancs, Peter Devison is pushing the envelope on the variety in Washington. One-third of this wine was cold soaked for 72 hours while the rest was direct-pressed; the wines were then blended back, finding a sweet spot between acid and texture in this wine—soaring aromatics of crushed slate, smoky chipped flint and freshly squeezed Meyer lemon pulp. The palate is lush, as bright green mangoes and salted lemon wedge lift lightly charred pineapple flesh and ripe papaya. Ocean air salinity carries long into an intense finish of this sterling wine.
