Farmed conventionally, this 2005 received some added nutrients and a slightly higher amount of sulphur to preserve it before spending 21 months in French and American oak, half of which was new. Has it stood the test of time? Yes, I think it has - the colour is quite evolved but it's drinking very nicely now, with notes of ink, blackberry, Asian spices and savoury forest floor. It's medium-bodied, with a more than respectable finish, but don’t hang around for too long.
