A labelling misprint indicates the wine is extra brut when it is actually brut nature, upping the wattage of an already high-acid grape (and one sourced from a cooler vineyard, Blue Mountain, in the east part of the Walla Walla AVA at that). The wine is unusual, yet one winemaker Brett Isenhower took to making in 2012 (and has since), building on his experience with making still wines of the variety. He calls it 'electric'. Strong salinity, perfume of apple blossom, and characteristics of apricot, stone fruit, and lemon verbena on the nose. Minerality carries through to the palate, reminiscent of saltwater taffy, with light notes of toast.
