This rare Washington Pinot Noir comes from a vineyard site in the eastern reaches of the Walla Walla Valley on the Washington side. At 1700ft or just about 520m, it's in a cool spot in a warm region. The wine is vibrant and fresh, and its pale ruby hue glints in the light. It leans towards woodland aromas of turned soils, evergreen tips, fresh mint leaves and a piquant note of blood orange. The palate offers zesty red bramble berries, salted blood orange rind, and dried herbs and lavender mouthfuls. It's a lovely wine and proves that light and fresh wines are possible in Washington.
