This wine is 100% barrel fermented with larger oak, with 80% new oak, but it comes with great aromatic clarity. Tighter grains and lighter toast give this wine precision. We get volume and density on the palate. with the new wood. We really want aromatic, expressive. There's a tautness to this; battonage is done with restraint, and it goes to barrel with the dirty lees. Juicy Meyer lemon, curd, minerality and brilliant acids. Yellow plums, six different yeasts allow them to really dial this wine in. It's creamy, but taut and upright. Malo is arrested to maintain the fresh character.
