Indeed, a rare variety from Red Mountain's Ciel du Cheval Vineyard, known for its Cabernet Sauvignon, or perhaps Syrah, this Nebbiolo crafted by Portland winemaking duo Division Winemaking Co is a brilliantly dialled example of the variety: smoky wild rose petals, cinnamon stick and dusty crushed stone minerality. The palate shows beautiful fruit notes of spicy raspberries, wild strawberries and candied berries held up by dried anise and a peppery, tannic finish.
