This Cabernet Sauvignon with 1% Petit Verdot comes from the Horse Heaven site, Phinny Hill. It's embued with sophistication and finesse, as gorgeous violets clove and exotic Moroccan spices alight the glass. A rich intensity to the red-fruited core on the palate highlights muddled ripe strawberries, gorgeous raspberries and a finish of mint leaves and wild thyme. This feels like a brilliant balance of Old World restraint and New World fruit, which once marked the early bottlings of Washington Cabernet. Brilliant.
