The 2023 Quilceda Creek CVR Red Wine ($85) boasts dark berry fruits, sweet spices, and dark cocoa, all coming together on the medium- to full-bodied palate, with supple plummy fruit notes, gravelly tannins, and a terrific saline mineral undercurrent. This wine is culled from a collection of blocks that may include younger vines, along with fruit from various sections of Champoux and some from Mach One. Fermentations take place in stainless steel. The wine is aged in barrel for 21 months, primarily in French oak, with CVR seeing a portion of neutral oak as well.
