Exceptional value here from Washington State's leading sparkling house, and bone dry with zippy acid and vigorous mousse. 24 months on lees imparts notes of fresh brioche and cream along with lemon and white flowers. Flavors of golden apples, lemon tart, wet river stone, and peach blossom on palate, with a clean, steely mouthfeel. Vineyard sourcing includes fruit from Hilltop in the Rattlesnake Hills, home to 40-plus-year-old vines planted by Washington wine pioneer, Walter Clore, who helped the region recognize its suitability for viticulture. A fine example of a fine wine at a fine price, much of that made possible by Clore’s institutional groundwork.
