From 1100 feet at the foot of the Blue Mountains, Les Collines is a legendary source of Washington State Syrah. This wine comes from Block 30, which was planted in 1998. It's wildly floral, and Lindsay-Thorsen used only 70% of the whole cluster in this bottling, which typically sees 100%. ‘It has a throughline of lightness and lilac,’ according to the winemaker, and I can confirm that elegance is the story of this Syrah; it shows what's possible in both a hot vintage and region and shows wild mountain blue fruits with red bramble berries and a gorgeous black core. Savoury spices and florality dominate.
