Slovenia

Heavy hail between mid-June and late July in the eastern region of Podravje lead to an average yield loss there of between 12-15%.

The Primorska region in the west benefitted from hot late summer days, with temperatures in Brda and the Vipava Valley reaching up to 33°C.

‘Reds, including Merlot, Teran, Refosk and Pinot Noir, showed good phenolic ripeness,’ said Bruno Gaberšek, secretary of the quality-driven Family Estates of Slovenia.

White varieties Pinela, Zelen and Rebula are showing full body and firm alcohol levels of around 12.5-13%.
