Tesco, Finest The Trilogy Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina, 2018

The Catena family is the royalty of Argentinian wine, and is behind this Tesco own-label Malbec produced from three high-altitude vineyard sites in Mendoza. It's a deep violet in the glass, soft and plummy with cocoa and chocolate richness. There's some vanilla sweetness too, from the ageing in French and American oak. A very approachable and fruit-forward New World Malbec, and a real crowd-pleaser.
