Tesco, Finest Margaux, Bordeaux, France, 2015

For those occasions when you want to splash out a little more on a more complex claret, Tesco's Finest Margaux reliably offers good quality for the price. This 2015 vintage is a blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, aged for up to 18 months in French oak (60% new). It offers a lovely berry richness, fleshy and mouthfilling, with velvety tannins and some spicy cedar notes. Really very good indeed.
