This would be a great bottle to take along to a dinner party – the packaging is eye-catching, and the orange wine category is still one that sparks interest. Great value at under a tenner, this Languedoc example is a blend of Viognier, Chardonnay, Muscat, Gewurztraminer and Petit Manseng – a real fruit cocktail! It's fun and fragrant, notes of orange blossom, apricot and tangerine mingling with a slight herby bitterness. The fruit is juicy but the skin contact that the white grapes underwent during fermentation lends the wine texture and a gentle grip as well as the pale orange hue.
