The Languedoc is a great hunting ground for value, and Paul Mas is a reliable name in this price bracket. The Languedoc Réserve Blanc a blend of Vermentino, Marsanne and Grenache Blanc, with a dash of Viognier, and is essentially unoaked, though the Marsanne has been fermented partly in new oak. It's a lovely food wine, dry and spicy with peach and jasmine notes and fresh acidity. A well-priced everyday drinking white for drinking in its youth, crisper and leaner than many whites from further north in the Rhône.
