Domaine Joël Delaunay in Touraine is now in the fifth generation, owned by Thierry Delaunay, who was the first Touraine producer to bottle under screwcap in 2004. Unsurprisingly for Touraine, 90% of the estate's production is white, but vinifying as an orange wine is less common in the region. The skin contact has given the wine its amber tint in the glass, its heady aromas of orange peel and mandarin citrus, and its phenolic character and structure in the mouth. Grippy, long and satisfying.
