From vineyards overlooking the southernmost portion of the coast of Abruzzo – known as the Costa dei Trabocchi – direct pressing of fully mature Montepulciano grapes results in a very dark rosè with light ruby hues. Strawberry jam, confit cherry tomatoes and iodine lead to a full-bodied palate with a luscious core of slightly candied red fruits allied to appetising salinity and an enlivening kick of Mediterranean herbs. Supple tannins underpin a tactile finish. Enjoy with brodetto (local fish soup) or arrosticini (lamb skewers).
