Majestic lists two 'Quartzo' wines from Portugal's Quinta do Crasto. The slightly cheaper one has a white label. This one, 'Quartzo Superior', with a black label, is a newer listing and is definitely the more exciting of the two, and worth the extra few quid. It's a blend of the grapes traditionally used to make Port, including Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz (known as Tempranillo in Spain), grown at high altitude (600m above sea level). The wine has spent 12 months in oak, but there's an elegance and lift here, a vibrancy to the dark berried fruit, that proves red wines from the Douro don't have to be massive and muscular. Mix six price £16.
