One look at the bottle and you know what to expect here - the vibrant colour and the name 'Al Fresco' tells you to expect a fresh, light and easy, unoaked red wine to serve slightly chilled on a warm summer's day. It's a Garnacha from Navarra and the Co-op wine buying team debated whether it should go into the rosé or red section. They decided on the red wine section, but this definitely benefits from a brief spell in the fridge, to accentuate the ripe strawberry and sour cherry fruit. There's a hint of residual sugar, but this is a fun and fruit-forward, well-made summer red that is a guaranteed crowd pleaser, and an easy one to sip without food. (Plus it's only 11% alcohol!)
