A rich and ripe Gewurtztraminer from vines planted in the 1970s, this is one impressive bottle of wine. Notes of sweet mandarin flesh, clover honey and whispers of spiced pear mark the aromatics. There is a phenolic heft to the wine, showing its serious side. Bruised apples and rich peaches at the depths of ripeness show a real core of fleshy stone fruit. The palate finishes with spiced pear flesh, nutmeg and a savoury dried herb finish. Delicious.
