History:

Coutet is one of the oldest estates in the region, with its winemaking activities dating back to 1643. Ownership of the estate changed many times during the 18th and 19th centuries, and in 1977 passed to Marcel Baly who undertook extensive renovations. Sons Phillippe and Dominique have continued the work, replanting the walled vineyards and rebuilding the winery and cellars. The château itself has also been much restored. In 1994, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild was given sole distribution rights by the Château in a move that further strengthened Coutet’s reputation worldwide.
