Almost 250 years ago the ancient family Guiraud paid £53,000 for La Maison Noble du Bayle – and the family home of the de Mons de Saint Poly family became Château Guirard, the foundation stone of a growth that would that would continue to develop into the 21st century. After a period of considerable rejuvenation under the ownership of Frank Narby in the late 20th century, the most recent change came in 2006, when three wine professionals, Olivier Bernard, Stephan Von Neipperg and Xavier Planty, with industrialist Robert Peugeot, made up the buying group that now guides the brand.
