Croatia

Inland, couloure and hailstorms (late spring and early summer) led to yield losses of up to 70% in some areas, especially in Medimurje. Coastal regions fared much better, despite summer outbreaks of peronospora in Dalmatian areas like Peljesac and Korcula.

An average, but good harvest overall. Particularly nice reds, such as Plavac mali from Split and Pelješac, and Babić from Primošten. Also ripe, smooth Merlot, Refosk and Teran wines from Zapadna Istra (western Istria).
