Duc de Mouchy of Haut-Brion dies

The Duc de Mouchy, former managing director of Chateau Haut-Brion, has died aged 88.

Philippe François Armand Marie de Noailles, Duc de Mouchy, Prince-Duc de Poix was the second husband of Princess Joan of Luxembourg, widow of Prince Charles of Luxembourg and scion of the Dillon family, which bought Haut-Brion in 1935.

While Joan was president of Domaine Clarence Dillon, Philippe became managing director (only members and direct descendents of the Dillon family sit on the board).

Between them they acquired Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion, Château Laville Haut-Brion and Château La Tour Haut-Brion.

Prince Robert of Luxembourg, Joan’s son by her first marriage, became president of Domaine Clarence Dillon in 2008.

The Duc de Mouchy died yesterday morning, February 28.
