The KWV Mentors range allows the team to express winemaking excellence and the pure expression of some very exceptional vineyards. Their goal is to pay total respect to terroir. The KWV team source fruit from throughout the Western Cape, focusing on vineyards which produce outstanding quality and reflect regionality.
Their delicious Grenache Blanc comes from a single vineyard site in Paarl.
The KWV Mentors Orchestra is a beautiful example of a New World Bordeaux blend.
Their Petit Verdot is a stunning example of what this grape variety can do as a straight single varietal release. With this wine, KWV pays homage to one of South Africa’s truly great red grape varietals – ‘always the bridesmaid, never the bride’ – not in the case of KWV The Mentors range.
The KWV Mentors Chardonnay is the realised vision of the winemaking team after experimenting in many trials with the aim of producing a World class, unique Chardonnay.
At this year’s Decanter World Wine Awards, the KWV Mentors Shiraz, Chardonnay and Grenache Blanc each won a gold medal.
All of these wines have received similar accolades in competitions worldwide.
In the years since the inception of the premium Mentors wines, the range has had a global reach, with local and international awards stacking up. It has attracted an ever-increasing following. With limited allocation, Mentors wines have become sought-after worldwide.
