The Chippendales of the Chais are on their way and the English wine scene will never be the same again…
A bevy of top UK wine trade figures will be ripping their clothes off for charity on Thursday 30 June. Eight of the finest men in the British wine trade will perform a Part Monty striptease in a crypt and exclusively for the brazen women of the trade.
The event has been organised by Christelle Guibert, of Decanter magazine, in conjunction with the Women of Wine (WoW) organisation and all proceeds made from the event will go to The Prostate Cancer charity.
The Performers
The Gods of the glass who will be baring (nearly) all are: Observer wine columnist and homme-fatal Tim Atkin MW, Wines of Chile UK Director and leopard-skin aficionado Michael Cox, Decanter’s very own Guy ‘would’ Woodward, Thierry’s MD Peter ‘something-for-the-weekend’ Derbyshire, Murray J ‘nice decking’ Harris of The Bridge pub in Barnes, Richard ‘dark horse’ Milsom of Charles Taylor Wines, Michael ‘huntin’, shootin’, fishin’ Palij MW, and Stone, Vine & Sun’s wine buyer, womaniser and ‘customer relations’ guru Andrew Shaw.
Top choreographer Angus Jacobs will be putting the men through their paces (some prefer to call it a ‘refresher course’) to guarantee a night of swaggers and swoons.

The Event
The performance will take place on 30 June from 7.30pm to midnight at The Crypt in Holborn Circus, London. There will be a raffle available to raise money for the charity and Urban Chill (www.urban-chill.com) will be on hand offering ‘pay what you feel it’s worth’ massages to those who might feel ‘a little tense’ before, during or after the show.
The event will be introduced by a fully clothed Steven Spurrier, Decanter’s consultant editor and renowned wine expert.
Tickets
Admittance to the ‘Part Monty’ striptease will be restricted to wine industry women, but wine industry men can buy tickets for admittance to the party that will kick off at 9pm, following the performance.
