Wine education project unveiled in Western Australia

A new Centre for Wine Excellence was announced last week by the Western Australian State Government.

The AU$7.5m (€4.48m) Centre, a joint venture between local training and education bodies, will be built in Margaret River, one of the state’s best known wine regions.

The Centre will aim to give local students the chance to achieve a broad range of wine qualifications, which officials hope will lead directly to employment in Margaret River’s up-and-coming wine businesses.

Construction of the Centre, the first of its kind in the region, is expected to start at the end of the year. It will be ready to take in its first students by 2004.
