Zuccardi: Second harvest, second Gold Trophy

Emma Zuccardi is celebrating after winning a second consecutive Gold Medal in this year's Decanter World Wine Awards. Both their first vintage, in 2009, and second vintage in 2010, have been awarded honours at Decanter’s prestigious competition. To obtain this recognition twice in a row is very promising for those who have begun to love Bonarda wines.

Winning two Gold Medals have opened the doors and caught the attention of world-wide-consumers to the second-most planted red variety in Argentina.

This recognition represents the exceptional work that Zuccardi’s winemaking team is doing out in the vineyards as well as its concern for the soil and the daily care taken on this special vineyard planted in Santa Rosa back in 1979 by José Alberto Zuccardi, Emma’s son.

When talking about the wine, Sebastian Zuccardi said: “Our Emma Zuccardi´s vineyards require attention; it is a variety that tends to produce high yields, ut when it comes to the winery, this wine has been made in a simple way: wild yeast, long maceration and only 40% aged in new French oak. Everything else is due to the quality and concentration of the Santa Rosa’s grapes”

This honor reaffirms Emma Zuccardi´s position as the best Bonarda in the world and gives Zuccardi wines the privilege of being one of the best wineries for producing this variety.

We are confident about the future of Zuccardi wines because of their innovative spirit and passion that drives the team to search for the highest quality possible coming from the Argentinean soils.
