Founded in 1950 by Giustino Bisol, Ruggeri is one of the leading producers of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, rooted in the hills of Cartizze, the ‘grand cru’ of the Valdobbiadene area.

Within this tiny 107ha zone, the winery has become a true benchmark, balancing experimentation with respect for century-old vines. Preservation of local biodiversity and sustainability are key to this approach, further underscored by the winery’s SNQPI certification.

Cartizze has always been Ruggeri’s greatest passion. The estate presses the highest share of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG grapes of any single producer, relying not only on its own vineyards but also on decades-long relationships with growers.

‘Our wines come from exceptional grapes hand-picked across these generous hills,’ says Laura Mayr, general manager of Ruggeri. ‘Every innovation we make springs from this close bond with the land – and with the extended family of growers who work it alongside us.’

Enhancing longevity

In the cellar, thorough experimentation has led to the creation of the ‘Metodo Ruggeri’, a philosophy that lies at the heart of Ruggeri’s identity and that looks to go beyond the usual definition of the category as a young, light and fruit-forward wine.

Centred on an unusually long maturation in autoclave, followed by further maturation in bottle, this patient approach far exceeds the requirements of the denomination.

Creating sparkling wines of greater complexity, structure, and harmony, with an exceptional ability to age and develop over time, the 'Metodo Ruggeri' has allowed the winery to become one of the first producers to offer vertical tastings of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG wines.

Iconic bottlings

Among the wines in Ruggeri’s portfolio, the Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG Brut Millesimato is the purest expression of this distinctive terroir. Made from grapes sourced from highly prized plots, it is considered Ruggeri’s finest expression of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG territory.

Delicate green nuances give way to notes of summer pear and wild flowers, while a perfect balance of acidity and mineral character makes it especially food-friendly. Pair it with shellfish, seafood risotto, ceviche or couscous with crunchy vegetables.

A tribute to the winery’s founder and the finest expression of the Metodo Ruggeri, Giustino B. Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry Millesimato is crafted from a meticulous selection of the best grapes from the Valdobbiadene area. A fine, persistent mousse crowns its straw-yellow colour.

Notes of peach and yellow apple, acacia blossoms and pink grapefruit shape a layered bouquet. Harmonious on the palate, it is as enjoyable on its own as an aperitif or with delicate dishes, especially seafood.
