Daniele Arcangeli is an award-winning Italian sommelier and wine buyer with over 20 years’ experience in Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hospitality across Europe and the UK. He is currently the head sommelier and wine buyer at Ekstedt at The Yard in London, leading the wine programme and pairing strategy.
His career spans leading roles at top venues including The River Restaurant by Gordon Ramsay, Angler (1 Michelin Star), 67 Pall Mall, and The Fat Duck (3 Michelin Stars), alongside positions at Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe. He is known for his technical expertise, refined service, and leadership in high-level beverage programmes.
Arcangeli was named Best Sommelier of Italy (2015) and Tuscany (2012), represented Italy at the ASI Best Sommelier of the World competition, and holds the ASI Diploma Gold, with further certifications from the Court of Master Sommeliers and AIS. He is currently completing the WSET Diploma and serves as a judge at major wine competitions internationally.

Born and raised in India, Shivani is the awards manager at Decanter, managing the 300-strong cohort of worldwide judges for the world's largest wine competition, the Decanter World Wine Awards, ensuring a seamless judging process and driving the competitive integrity of the awards. After earning a master’s in wine management from the Burgundy School of Business, she moved to London in 2016 and completed her WSET diploma. While Burgundy holds a special place in her heart, Champagne is her go-to bottle. Alongside her full-time role, she has been dipping her toes into wine writing, relishing the opportunity to bring wine stories to the surface. She serves on the Drinks United Advisory Council board.
