DWWA judge profile: Georgi Mihov

Georgi Mihov is a judge at the at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA)

Georgi Mihov is head of wines for Select Trade. In his role he is responsible for wine selection for supermarket chains Piccadilly and Carrefour in Bulgaria. Previously, Mihov worked as a sommelier on cruise liners and for luxury hotels in Europe, as head sommelier of private members’ club The Residence Exclusive Club in Sofia, Bulgaria, and as a consultant, wine educator, and wine importer. He has his own wine brand Someno, specialising in fine wines from native Bulgarian grapes, and holds the title of Best Sommelier of Bulgaria 2011. Since 2014, Mihov has been publishing his tasting notes on Bulgarian wines on bulgarianwinereport.com. Mihov was first a DWWA judge in 2013.
