Weather Conditions
Two washed out vintages in the same decade is one more than Tuscany usually reckons on, but unfortunately 1972 suffered a similar fate to 1976. Rain through the summer and again at harvest time gave producers dilute and under ripe fruit to work with. Very little of the wine bottled in the region lived to tell the story.
