Top Pomerol 2018 wines: Re-tasted in bottle

Jane Anson found less consistency in Pomerol than in St-Emilion after tasting the recently-bottled Bordeaux 2018 wines but says there are still some brilliant bottles here if you know where to look.

An earlier-ripening area, as with Pessac-Léognan, which meant there were lots of rich fruit flavours and welcoming tannins, but on the flip side there were also some overly-concentrated wines and drying tannins.
