History:

An ancient tower here is an imposing reminder of this estate’s long past, as far back as the Anglo-Norman invasions. The elegant Château and vineyard, however, date from the 17th century. For over 100 hundreds, Laroque was owned by the noble Rochefort-Lavie family, and then in 1935 passed to the Beaumartins. It is the latter who must take credit for the estate’s rise in reputation. After much work developing and extending the vineyard, the family was rewarded with the Chateau’s promotion to cru classé in the 1996 classification of Saint-Emilion.
