History:

In 1697 the vineyard passed from Louise Ecoussès to Simon Malescot, a Bordeaux parliamentarian. The Malescots put much energy into the estate, but inheritance issues forced its sale 130 years later to Count Jean-Baptiste St-Exupéry (great grandfather of aviator and writer Antoine de St-Exupéry). He added his name, and began expanding the property: improvements continued under successive owners after its sale at auction 30 years later, with a M Boissac adding the beautiful château. A key transition came when Swiss father and son Paul and Roger Zuger took over in 1995, and were able to reverse the preceding decades of decline suffered by so many in the industry. Now, the

enlarged and renovated estate is managed by Roger Zuger’s son Jean-Luc.
