History:

Petit Faurie de Soutard originally formed part of the big Château Soutard estate but was parcelled off following inheritance problems in 1851. ‘Faurie’ comes from the ancient of the name of the area, remembered today as a battle site during the Hundred Years War. The estate was bought by the Aberlen family in 1936, and in 1978 became part of Vignobles Capdemourlin following Françoise Aberlen’s marriage to Jacques Capdemourlin. It lies high on Saint-Emilion’s limestone plateau, next door to Balestard la Tonnelle, another Capdemourlin property.
