History:

Château Tertre Daugay is distinguished by its elevated situation, on a promontory, or ‘tertre’, with far-reaching views over the Dordogne valley. In the Middle Ages, the hill site served as a ‘tertre du guet’, or lookout mound, and it is to this that the Château owes its name. During the 1900s, the estate fell into neglect and was eventually sold at auction to present owner Count Léo de Malet-Roquefort in 1978. Some of the ages-old vines remain to this day, although the estate is otherwise transformed.
