When it comes to Chablis, have you ever wanted to identify your “Les Clos” from “Valmur”? Do you know why most Burgundy drinkers advocate that Clos Saint Jacques’ Premier Cru status should really be that of a Grand Cru? Or maybe you would like free insight into this brilliant festival and have the chance to gain some tips to navigate a wine auction. Tickets ranging from the aforementioned free ‘teasers’ to $175 for a Chambolle extravaganza with Veronique Drouhin Boss of Maison Joseph Drouhin can be found here.
La Paulée Mondiale will host a series of webinars including live conversations with some of the most celebrated winemakers from Burgundy. Zachys, the exclusive retail partner, will be offering unique wine packs to coincide with the tastings, allowing participants to taste along and share the experience at home.
Daniel Johnnes, founder of La Paulée notes “After deciding to conduct this year’s event virtually, we knew that we needed a retail partner to support this, one with exceptional logistics capabilities, possibly the deepest inventory of fine wines in the US and a brand with the gravitas and trust our consumers expect. There was no question that would be Zachys.”
The La Paulée team spent three weeks in Burgundy in early 2021 to get exclusive content for the festival. Take a behind the scenes look at some of the footage that La Paulée will be sharing with the world this March during the programmed events. Exclusive video recordings include tasting in the cellars with Eric Rousseau, Christophe Roumier and Aubert de Villaine, and learning about transitioning between generations within a domaine through intimate conversations with the Mugneret family as well as Pierre Morey and his daughter, Anne Morey. The program will also dig (quite literally) into Les Amoureuses with Frédéric Mugnier, tour Bâtard Montrachet with Brice de la Morandière of Domaine Leflaive, walk the Clos des Ducs vineyard with the Marquis d’Angerville and the taste the iconic Clos Saint Jacques in Gevrey with Louis Jadot’s Pierre-Henry Gagey and Thibault Gagey.
