Rain, hail, cool temperatures and wind wiped out many of Piedmont’s top productions. Although Piedmont was badly hit, Nebbiolo did fairly well due to Indian summer conditions that allowed them to ripen reasonably. Search out the Barolos and Barbarescos from better estates.
