An outstandingly good vintage although the wines did not achieve the longevity of the 81s

A cracking year with truly excellent wines. Though not, perhaps, in the same league as the 1994 or the 1964, nearly everybody made good wine this year, perhaps most notably El Coto, Faustino, Salceda, and Montecillo who all made copious amounts of Gran Reserva, which scored a magnificent 11% overall (annual average 7%).
