Ata Rangi Pinot Noir, Martinborough, New Zealand 2012
‘A season like no other’ says winery owner Clive Paton, that started worryingly like 2010 with delayed growth, recurring rain and overcast skies. But ‘April ‘really pulled one out of the bag’ where there was enough sunshine to produce supremely elegant wines. Another vintage for the Burgundy lover (and the first certified organic), Ata Rangi Pinot Noir 2012 promises to be a great wine: light, soft and delicate cherry stone and fresh cherry flavours with a long mineral finish. Beautiful.
