Duckhorn, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California 2009.
Individual judges’ scores: Stephen Brook 88 Yohann Jousselin MS 85 David Motion 88.
Stephen Brook: Fresh blackberry nose. Medium-bodied, supple, quite concentrated, and has ripe tannins. It’s correct and balanced if not very exciting, and it does lack personality. But it’s well made and sleek, and enjoyable. Quite long.
Yohann Jousselin MS: A very rich style with notes of blackcurrant and cooked cherries. It is a classic style but doesn’t offer a lot of complexity.
David Motion: Touch medicinal in nose. Very present, chewy tannins.
