Stephen Brook

Tasting: St. Emilion Grand Cru & Premier Grand Cru Classe

Closed nose, though distinctly oaky. Quite rich, concentrated, firm and ripe tannins, with good depth of fruit. It’s opulent and forthright but has some backbone too, and good acidity on the finish to give persistence and flair. Balanced and long.

Tasting: St. Emilion Grand Cru & Premier Grand Cru Classe

Nose fresh but a little reserved. Graphite-mineral, dark fruit nuance. Generous fruit on attack. Blackcurrant notes. Suave and round but with firm tannic frame behind. Has a certain austere power.

Steven Spurrier

Tasting: St. Emilion Grand Cru & Premier Grand Cru Classe

Nicely concentrated, quite earthy berry fruit, both rich and firm on the palate. Tannins a bit firm but not aggressive, but overall a bit green; needs time.
