Driftwood, 2011

  • Grape Variety: Chardonnay
  • Drink: 2014 - 2025

Andrew Jefford

Tasting: Western Australia Chardonnay

A more pronounced gold than most. Lots of hazels; a little mushroom, too. This has a vivid, exuberant, juicy and expressive palate. The fruit is quite simply drawn, and it finishes tartly; classy oak is evident, too. I’m looking for a bit more softness and subtlety for a high score.

Roger Jones

Tasting: Western Australia Chardonnay

Savoury marmite nose, rich and opulent, deep intensity, lovely rich lingering ripe peaches and roasted nectarines, candy floss, buttery and perfect acidity. This will go on a long time, but very good now.

Alessandro Marchesan

Tasting: Western Australia Chardonnay

Pronounced, clean pure fruit on the nose. Ripe red citrus fruit, nectarines and well integrated oak on the palate. Long and elegant aftertaste.
